Police Media Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manatunga stated, “Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka is scheduled to begin on April 4. Considering this visit, Sri Lanka Police will implement a special traffic and security plan. Accordingly, the Colombo-Katunayake Expressway and Baseline Road will be intermittently closed from 6.00 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. on April 04.”

Additionally, the Police Media Spokesman advised that individuals arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake during this period are advised to plan their travel arrangements accordingly, considering the temporary road closures.

He further added, “On April 5, roads in the Galle Face area of Colombo, surrounding areas of Independence Square, and roads of the Apē Gama premises in Battaramulla will also be intermittently closed.”

Sri Lanka Police have urged all drivers and the public to comply with this special traffic plan.
