Second Reading of National Building Research Institute Bill in Parliament next week

Parliament is scheduled to meet for four days next week.
The decision was taken during a meeting of at the Committee on Parliamentary Business held under the chairmanship of Speaker of House Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
Accordingly, Parliament is scheduled to meet from September 23 to 26.
On each sitting day next week, the time from 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. has been allotted for parliamentary business as per Standing Orders 22 (1) to (6) of Parliament. The time from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. has been allocated for Questions for Oral answers, while the time from 11.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. has been reserved for Questions under Standing Orders 27(2).
Accordingly, on Tuesday (23), from 11.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. the Second Reading of the National Building Research Institute Bill is scheduled to be taken up for debate.
Thereafter, from 5.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. the Motion at the Adjournment Time moved by the opposition is scheduled to be debated.
On Wednesday (24), from 11.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., time has been allocated for the Second Reading debate of the Penal Code (Amendment) Bill.
Thereafter, from 5.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. time has been allocated for Questions at the Adjournment Time.
On Thursday (25), Regulations under the Imports and Exports (Control) Act will be debated from 11.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Subsequently, from 5.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., the Motion at the Adjournment Time moved by the opposition is scheduled to be taken up for debate.
On Friday (26), from 11.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. the Adjournment Debate on the “Fourth Report of the Committee on Public Enterprises” will be held as per the motion moved by the government, according to the Department of Communication of Parliament.
