Gold jewelry, cash recovered by Army personnel during disaster relief operation returned to owners

Sri Lanka Army personnel have returned cash amounting to Rs. 300,000 and gold jewelry valued at approximately Rs. 5 million recovered during on-going search operations as part of disaster relief work to their rightful owner.

During disaster operations carried out within the Hanguranketha Divisional Secretariat, Army personnel found belongings of various individuals affected by landslides.

These items and cash, which were among the rubble of a house completely destroyed by the landslide, were securely handed over to the owner by the army personnel.
