49-year-old doctor drowns at Mirissa Beach

A doctor has reportedly died after drowning in the Mirissa Beach yesterday (25).
The deceased has been identified as the Chief Doctor of Walana District Hospital in Weligama.
He was rescued by local residents and admitted to Matara General Hospital, where he later passed away.
It is reported that the 49-year-old doctor had reportedly commenced duties at the hospital about a month ago.
