Motorcyclist killed in accident on Ratnapura–Balangoda road

A 27-year-old individual has died following a road accident that occurred near the Bathgamgoda Junction on the Ratnapura–Balangoda main road, police stated.
Police said the accident took place when a motorcycle travelling from Balangoda towards Pelmadulla lost control, veered off the roadway and collided with a roadside electricity pole.
The rider sustained critical injuries in the crash and was rushed to the Kahawatta Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as a resident of Pelmadulla.
Pelmadulla Police are conducting further investigations into the incident to determine the exact circumstances leading to the crash.
