Sri Lanka Telecom PLC today strictly rejected the false accusations with regard to the results of the Presidential Election – 2015.

Issuing a statement, SLT said “Although it was reported by a news website recently that it was possible for those who are aware of the passwords of the Sri Lanka Telecom terminal line were able to change the results of the election, Group Chief Executive Officer of Sri Lanka Telecom totally rejected such accusations and declared his position to the Elections Commissioner regarding this issue on 07-01-2015.

In response to this, the Elections Commissioner clearly stated that the falseness of this accusation was already evident. Further, the Commissioner said that he decided to assign the responsibility of providing telecommunication networks for the purpose of the election to SLT considering the trustworthiness and the reliability of the company. The commissioner also condemned the false accusation made by the said website.”
