February 24, 2015   05:36 pm

A Counsel appearing on behalf of Malaka Silva, the son of ex-Minister Mervyn Silva, today appealed the court to soften his client’s bail conditions.

The Counsel told the Fort Magistrate that the Court has banned Silva from entering night clubs and it is a violation of his client’s fundamental rights.

Malaka Silva, and six other suspects were arrested on charges of assaulting a foreign couple at a nightclub in November, 2014. The court prohibited Silva from entering any nightclubs until the case against him is concluded.

The case will be heard again on 23 March.
