The Sun is going to be directly over Sri Lanka from today (5) to 15 April, the Meteorology Department said.

“On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05thand 15th of April in this year. The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is overhead today (05th), are Koggala, Nakulugamuwa and Denipitiya about 12:13 noon,” the department said in a statement.

The Met. Department also forecasted that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places over the country during the afternoon or evening. A few showers can be expected in the South-western coastal areas during the morning too.
