The High Court on Tuesday (28) fixed date for the trial in the case where Parliamentarian Duminda Silva is accused in the killing of three individuals including former Presidential Advisor Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.
The case will be taken up for hearing on 22 May.
Chaminda Jayanath, who was an accused in the case, was also enlarged on bail by Judge Pavithra Tennakoon.
The Attorney General’s (AG) Department last May requested the Chief Justice to appoint a Trial-at-Bar for the case. That came after indictments were filed against Duminda Silva and 12 others on 18 charges including unlawful assembly, murder, conspiring to murder and abetting murder.
Premachandra and three others were gunned down in Mulleriyawa on October 08, 2011, during the local government election.
