Airman shot dead at Ratmalana Air Base

An airman attached to the Ratmalana Air Force Base, who was engaged in patrolling duties, has been shot dead, SLAF Spokesperson Wind Commander Gihan Seneviratne said.


Seneviratne told Ada Derana that an inquiry is underway to further probe the incident as it is not clear whether this is a suicide or homicide. 


The remains of the body have been taken to the Colombo South hospital for the post-mortem examination.
