President attends Maldives Golden Jubilee celebrations of Independence

President Maithripala Sirisena who arrived in Male yesterday (26)  participated at the commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Maldives as the Chief Guest.  The ceremony was held at Darubaruge, the Capital of Male.


President Sirisena was accorded a warm welcome by the Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen Abdulla Gayoom.

 
Several foreign dignitaries attended the  function, which was followed by a reception and banquet hosted by President Yameen at the Dharubaaruge convention centre. President Sirisena also held cordial discussions with the Heads of State of other foreign countries.
