One dead, 1 injured in Sella Kataragama shooting

One person was killed while another was critically wounded following a shooting incident in Maruwanguwa, Sella Kataragama.

Police said that a 36-year-old resident of Maruwanguwa died in the shooting which took place at around 10.30pm last night. 

Another individual sustained injuries in the shooting and was admitted to the Kataragama Hospital. He was later transferred to the Hambantota Hospital for further treatment, police said. 

Police are yet to identify any suspects in the shooting while the postmortem examination on the victim is to be carried out today.
