Daughter who kept father in dog cage arrested

A 42-year-old daughter has been arrested for allegedly locking her 72-year-old father in a dog cage in Balagolla, the police say.


The woman was arrested after an officer attached to a police patrolling team had spotted the man was being held inside the cage.


The father was living in a cramped cage made of bricks and metal bars, according to the police.


The victim has been admitted to the Menikhinna Base hospital. The suspected daughter will be produced before the Kandy Magistrate, today.
