The Minuwangoda Magistrate today (19) released Dinesh Priyashantha alias Kondaya who had been arrested in connection with the murder and rape of the five-year-old child in Kotadeniyawa.
Earlier, the Minuwangoda Magitsrate was apprised that DNA samples found on Seya Sadewmi do not match Kondeya.
This was informed after the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) submitted a report prepared by the Genetech Molecular Diagnostics Research Institute (GMDRI) on the DNA test.
In a report submitted to the Court, later the GMDRI informed the Magistrate that DNA samples found on Seya Sadewmi match Kondeya’s elder brother Saman Jayalath.
However, Kondaya has been further remanded till November 02 since he has two more pending cases in Gampaha and Attanagalla Magistrate’s Courts, the police Spokesperson said.
