Public petition at Fort to urge porn ban in Sri Lanka

November 1, 2015   10:07 am

A public petition will be signed on November 04 at Colombo Fort in a bid to request the Government to urge the internet service providers to block access to websites hosting pornographic content.

The campaign will be organized by the Advocacy and Reconciliation Center (ARC).

Former SSP and Secretary of the ARC Maheel Doole says he is of the view that ban on porn sites in Sri Lanka would be a timely requirement in the wake of crimes targeting children and youth.

The petition will be signed from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm at the Fort Railway Station. “The petition will also be handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena,” Maheel Doole added.
