Nine more cops assigned to commission of inquiry

Nine more police officers have been assigned to the presidential commission of inquiry appointed to investigate and inquire into serious acts of fraud, corruption and abuse of power, state resources and privileges.

Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the new appointments will take effect from November 16. 

Meanwhile 7 police officers who were previously serving with the Commission of Inquiry (CoI) have been transferred back to the police stations they were attached to, based on a request made by the Chairman of the commission to the IGP.
