Pivithuru Hela Urumaya General Secretary and Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila on Wednesday (17) dismissed the charges on former President’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa as “politically motivated”.

The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (17).

“Yoshitha Rajapaksa was neither a stakeholder nor was a part of the Board of Directors of the Carlton Sports Network (CSN),” Gammanpila said.

However he admitted that former President’s son had requested and motivated a group of his friends to launch the CSN since there was no television channel in Sri Lanka to exclusively cover sport events.
