Cashier stabbed during Rs 1.5m robbery in Ja-Ela

The cashier of a private financial institution in Ja-Ela was stabbed and cash amounting to Rs 1.5 million in his possession stolen by two unidentified men on a motorcycle today.

Police said that the cashier was taking the money to a vehicle for transport to make a certain payment when two men arrived on a motorcycle, attacked his with a sharp object and made off with the bag of cash.

The victim has been admitted to the Ragama Hospital with injuries.

The suspects have not been identified yet while Ja-Ela Police is conducting further investigations.
