T56 rifle and 5 revolvers stolen from Laggala police station

Firearms including a T56 assault rifle and 5 revolvers have been stolen from the Laggala Police Station in Matale, police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said. 

The firearms were reportedly stolen from the Laggala Police Station by an individual at around 1.00am today (April 14).

Acting IGP S.M. Wickremesinghe has ordered the Senior DIG in charge of Central Province to conduct an immediate investigation into the incident.
