Body found near lake in Nochchiyagama

A body has been discovered today near the Gammedda Lake in Nochchiyagama.

A resident in the area had seen the body and informed Nochchiyagama Police, who have commenced investigations at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as a 57-year-old resident of Panamunei in Nochchiyagama, however the cause of death has not been ascertained yet.

The autopsy and magistrate’s inquiry are to be carried out today.
