Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited Uganda only after receiving an official invitation for the tour, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya Leader and Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila says.

The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (16).

Gammanpila also admitted that the Foreign Affairs Ministry had paid for the travel expenses of former President’s visit.

However, while responding to media personnel he refused allegations the former President of meeting former Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga during the visit.

The Parliamentarian also slammed the Government for not doing enough to provide relief and find solutions for flood victims.
