Cocaine imported under the guise of sugar?

A stock of drugs believed to be cocaine has been discovered inside a container which had arrived from Brazil by customs officers at the Orugodawatta container yard.   

A spokesman for Sri Lanka Customs said that the drugs were found inside 3 bags which were inside the container, which had been registered as a shipment of sugar.  

The drugs weigh around 91 kilograms with the three bags while the value is yet to be estimated. 

The stock of drugs have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.  

UPDATE: The drug haul is estimated to be worth around Rs 2.5 billion.
