June 14, 2016   05:15 pm

For the sake of innocent people, the Joint Opposition should get to the streets and do more for the people, Leader of the Jathika Emamuthuwa Venerable Bengamuwe Nalaka Thero says.

The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (14).

“Is the Joint Opposition in sleeping mode? Because likely it has no intention to look into people’s real matters,”   Nalaka Thero added.
The Thero also stressed that they warn the Joint Opposition to change its stance soon.

Convener of the Jathika Emamuthuwa Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekera while addressing the press conference pointed out that the Government had to form a Constitutional Council amid international pressure.

He also questioned the Joint Opposition as to why it decided to extend support for the decision to form a Constitutional Council.
