Minister Sarath Fonseka is likely to join the United National Party (UNP) within next few days, a source close to the UNP told Ada Derana.

A discussion in this regard will be held with the participation of the Prime Minister tomorrow, the source added.

Sri Lanka’s ruling United National Party (UNP) has signed a collective agreement with the Democratic Party (DP) led by former Army Commander Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka earlier.

The agreement was signed by Fonseka as the leader of the Democratic Party and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe as the UNP leader.
