The Right to Information act would not provide relief for journalists, but it will enforce the general public, Co-cabinet spokesman Minister Gayantha Karunathilaka says.

The observation was made while an event held in Colombo this afternoon (27).

"There are rumors about the RTI due to lack of knowledge about it. Therefore, more awareness programs will be held in future," he added.

The Right to Information Bill (RTI) was passed in the Sri Lanka Parliament with amendments on 24 June.
