PM assures to include amendments to Draft Bill on OMP

An amended Draft Bill on the Office of Missing Persons could be brought to the Parliament, the Prime Minister assured today.


The observation was made in respond to a question asked by JVP leader Anura Dissanayake during this morning’s Parliament session.


Dissanayake also raised concerns over not considering the proposals made by the JVP with respect of the Draft Bill.


He pointed out that Minister Lakshman Kiriella so fay has failed to hold a meeting in this regard, though he had vowed to discuss the matter in the first place.


However, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe assured that the proposals of the JVP could be included to the Draft Bill.
