Restaurant owner shot dead in Pilimathalawa

 A person has been shot and killed in the Pilimathalawa area in Peradeniya. 

Police said that two unidentified gunmen who came on a motorcycle to a restaurant in Pilimathalawa and shot the owner of the establishment before fleeing. 

He was rushed to the Peradeniya Hospital in critical condition, however succumbed to injuries afterwards. 

The deceased is a 30-year-old from Nanu Oya in Pilimathalawa. The body has been placed at the Peradeniya Hospital while the postmortem examination will be carried out today (27).

The reason for the murder has not been determined yet while Peradeniya Police has commenced investigations to identify the suspects.
