Most Ven. Nauyane Ariyadhamma Thera passes away

Anunayaka Thera of the Sri Lanka Ramanya Sect, Most Venerable Nauyane Ariyadhamma Thera (79) has passed away.

He passed away while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.

A senior meditation teacher, he was the spiritual advisor of the Sri Kalyani Yogasrama Samstha, and for many years resided at the Na Uyana Aranya, until 2011, when he moved to Meetirigala Dharmayataya Aranya.

The Sri Lanka Ramanya Nikaya awarded Ariyadhamma Thera the titles of ‘Tripitaka Vagisvaracarya’ and ‘Mahopadhyaya’ while the Government of Burma awarded him the title ‘Maha-Kammatthanacariya’ (Great Meditation Master).

He has written more than 100 books and booklets in Sinhala on meditation and Dhamma while some of them have been translated to English.
