The hearing of the case filed against former Minister Wimal Weerawansa, for allegedly attempting to travel aboard using an expired diplomatic passport, has been postponed till February 02, 2017.

When the case was taken up at the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today (8), the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) had requested for more time to obtain certain evidence with regard to the incident.

After considering this, the magistrate postponed the case to next year.
