The Colombo Magistrate’s Court today rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by the former Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo Dr. Ananda Samarasekara, in connection with the murder case of rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.

Filing the application, the ex-JMO had notified court that the police was expected to arrest him for investigations into the disappearance of several bone parts of the former Sri Lankan rugby player.

Declaring that he has absolutely no connection to the incident and maintained that he had not committed any offence.

Therefore Dr Samarasekara requested the court to issue an order directing the police to release him on an anticipatory bail, if arrested over the alleged charges.
