The Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Investigate and Inquire into Serious Acts of Fraud, Corruption and Abuse of Power, State Resources and Privileges (PRECIFAC) has concluded its investigations regarding alleged financial irregularities in the “Karadiyawara Mangalaya,” the inauguration ceremony of the Hambantota Port.

A spokesman for the commission said that the relevant report on the investigation is scheduled to be presented to President Maithripala Sirisena.

Former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama and veteran actor Jackson Anthony arrived at the commission today (23) in order to give statements in connection with the investigation.

Meanwhile former Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa has also been summoned before the commission at 2.00pm today.

He is expected to give a statement pertaining to the ongoing investigation into allegations that he misused aircraft operated by the Sri Lanka Air Force for his personal travels within the country while serving as a minister under the former government.
