Sri Lanka, Georgia sign deal on visa-free system for diplomats

The Georgian and Sri Lankan Foreign Ministers highlighted bilateral relations at the meeting held on the sidelines of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly.
Mikheil Janelidze and Mangala Samaraweera focused on a wide range of issues of common interest, on significant geographic location of both countries that promote the development of the countries’ transit functions.
Mikheil Janelidze informed his Sri Lankan counterpart on the implemented and current reforms in Georgia, on Georgia’s transit role and opportunities as a regional hub in terms of doing business.
Mikheil Janelidze and Mangala Samaraweera expressed their readiness to co-operate in the spheres of trade, tourism, culture and people-to-people relations.
In conclusion, the two Foreign Ministers signed the Agreement on visa-free travel for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
