Commander of the Navy meets Nisha Biswal

Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, who is currently on an official visit to the United States, met the US Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Biswal, at the United States Department of State and held discussions on matters which are mutually beneficial.


Commander of the Navy also met Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Mr. Manpreet S Anand, and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador William E Todd at the Department of State.


On completion of the above meetings, Commander of the Navy met the Assistant Commandant for Acquisition and Chief Acquisition Officer (CAO) of the US Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Joseph M. Vojvodich, at the U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington DC. They held discussions on matters of mutual interest and importance.  


The Sri Lanka Navy’s Director General Operations, Rear Admiral Dharmendra Wettewa, the Defence Attaché of the Sri Lankan Embassy in the United States, Brigadier Jayantha Rathnayke, Personal Secretary and Aide to the Commander of the Navy, Captain Buddhika Liyanagamage and the Deputy Defence Attaché of the US Embassy in Sri Lanka Lt. Jacob F. English, were also present at the meetings.
