I never asked intelligence officers to keep tabs on politicians – Gota

October 6, 2016   06:25 pm

Former Defence Secretary Gotabya Rajapaksa says that he never instructed state intelligence officers to carefully observe or gather information on politicians when he was serving as Secretary of the Defence Ministry.

Addressing an event in Matara today (6), Rajapaksa said he only instructed them to look into terrorists who were a threat to the country.

He said that if intelligence units are now attempting to look into where he is going about, they need not waste their time as he is willing to provide them with his daily itineraries.
