Kithsiri Karunaratne, a highly respected personality within the Arts, Culture and Entertainment community in Sri Lanka and Australia for over 30 years, was presented the ‘Serandib Sri Lankan of the Year - Australia’ award 2016.  

Mr. Sachith Fernando was presented the “Serendib Young Sri Lankan of the year – Australia” award. The Serendib Awards ceremony was held at the Grand on Cathies on 7th October in Melbourne, Australia.

Sri Lankan Awards in, Australia recognise, acknowledge and promote individuals who have achieved outstanding success in their professional and community service or have made a significant contribution towards the community since its inception in 2005.

“These awards are designed to pay tribute to inspirational individuals who have gone that extra mile to help others in their community in a variety of ways” says Virosh Perera, founder and the CEO of the Serendib News Network.

Partnering with leading corporations, leaders and elite members of the community, it was a thrilling night to remember for all award recipients and exclusive participants alike.
