It is not reasonable that certain parties are attempting to blame the President because his estimated expenditure for 2017 is being increased, Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya says.

a
The observation was made at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (24).

He also pointed out reasons as to why the estimated expenditure of President Maithripala Sirisena has been increased when compared to the last year. Devapriya went on to say several institutions including the President Secretariat Office and the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre for which funds have been allocated are also come under the President.

“It was not at his personal request that the estimated expenditure for 2017 was increased,” he pointed out.

“There were people who made allegations against late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike as well,” he reminded.
