Three persons arrested with 111 kg of Kerala Ganja

On receipt of intelligence information, the Sri Lanka Navy with the assistance of the Police apprehended 3 persons with 111 kg of Kerala Cannabis at two separate locations, during search operations.  

Accordingly, Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gajaba located in Mannar belonging to the North Central Naval Command in coordination with the Mannar Police, during a search, apprehended 2 suspects who were transferring 110 kg of Kerala Cannabis by a van in Mannar today (11). 

The suspects along with the stock of cannabis were handed over to the Mannar Police for onward legal action, SLN said.

Further, Naval personnel attached to SLNS Thambapanni in Puttalam with the assistance of the Puttalam Police, nabbed another person for transferring 1 kg of Kerala Cannabis using a motorcycle, during a search carried out in Puttalam yesterday (10). 

The suspects and cannabis were produced before the Puttalam Police for further investigations, the statement said.
