The Central Bank of Sri Lanka should come under the preview of President Maithripala Sirisena, former Foreign Minister G.L. Peiris said.

He expressed this view while speaking to reporters during a press conference held in Colombo on Tuesday.

Peiris pointed out a case has already been filed by the Perpetual Treasuries Limited with the Court of Appeal challenging the accusations raised against it by the Monetary Board.

The former Foreign Minister also said that the Joint Opposition has lost faith with respect of the investigation on the controversial bond sale, since it is currently handled under directives from the Prime Minister.
