Youth arrested with stock of gems at BIA

A local youth has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for attempting to smuggle a stock of gems valued at over Rs 4.8 million out of the country. 

The Sri Lanka Customs spokesman said that the gem stones were found concealed in the luggage of the suspect, a 26-year-old from Colombo. 

He is being further investigate while in custody while the stock of gems have been confiscated.
