Second phase of re-housing scheme completed

The second phase of re-housing the victims who lost their homes to the Meethotamulla disaster began, in the presence of the President, Maithripala Sirisena at the Disaster management center. 

Ninety-eight individuals were promised new houses, and while a group of people received the houses during the first phase, the rest of the individuals received their houses during the second phase, yesterday (25). 

However certain individuals who had arrived at the housing programme stated that the Rs.250000 they were promised as compensation for the lost housing utilities still haven’t been provided to them.
