Nine injured, 3 critical following train footboard accident

At least nine persons were injured and hospitalised after they collided with a vehicle while travelling on the footboard of a train in the Koralawella area in Moratuwa this evening. 

The Railway Control Room said that a group of commuters who were on the footboard had collided with a nearby lorry while the train was moving. 

Five of the injured persons have been admitted to the Panadura Hospital while 3 of them are said to be in critical condition, according to hospital sources.
