Kelani Valley railway track blocked due to fallen tree

Train services on the Kelani Valley railway track have been disrupted due to fallen trees blocking the track. 

The track between Udahamulla and Pengiriwatte, Nugegoda have been blocked, the railway control room said. 

Meanwhile a number of roads in and around Colombo have been blocked for traffic due to the extreme weather conditions. 

Roads near the Telecom building near Colombo Fort, fire station on Darley Road, Tractor cooperation junction in Pettah and Bullers Lane behind BMICH have all been blocked due to fallen trees obstructing the road. 

Police have urged the public to use alternative routes as much as possible.
