Kalutara flood situation deteriorates

It has been reported that the flood like conditions in the Kalutara, have been deteriorating, in the light of recent events. 

The Kalutara District Secretary stated that the overflowing of the Kalu river has caused extensive levels of flooding in the area.

A message has been announced requesting for all residents in the high risk zones to move away from the area to safety. 

Meanwhile, the Ratnapura district secretary stated that although many of the affected parts in Ratnapura have experienced a decrease in the flood water volume, certain areas still are suffering the consequences of the increase in the water level. 

The Galle district Secretary stated that the flood situation in Galle has been deteriorating steadily over the past few days. 

The District secretary of the Colombo District stated that the water level of the Kelani river has been steadily falling, while the irrigation department concluded their statements by stating that the water levels in the rivers around the country have been showing a steady decrease.
