Motor racing rider Ananda Wedisinghe passes away

Racing rider Ananda Wedisinghe, who was seriously injured during the Nuwara Eliya Road Race on April 23, has passed away on Monday, hospital sources said.


He was receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Kandy Teaching Hospital.


Motor racing enthusiasts, his friends and family members also had plans to send him abroad for further treatment and had launched a fund to meet his air fare and hospital charges.
