Two nabbed with 56.5 kg of Kerala Ganja

Sri Lanka Coast Guard personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command apprehended two suspects along with approximately 56.5 kgs of Kerala Cannabis at the beach of Thondimannar area during last night (9). 

The suspects were transferring the contraband along the beach when they were arrested by the Coast Guard foot patrol deployed in the area, SLN media unit said.  

The consignment was packed in two gunny bags which was consisting with 25 small parcels (approx 2.2 kg each) wrapped with polyethylene to prevent water from leaking in. 

The two suspects are from Achchuveli and Thondimannar area and they will be handed over to the Police along with the consignment of contraband for further investigations, navy said.
