Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne stated that the government has taken swift measures to deal with the shortages faced by the IDH hospital.

He further stated that the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA), has been blowing the situation out of proportion, and been providing false information causing a stir among the public.

Senaratne stated that the topic has become a sort of media circus.

He added that all measures have been taken to deal with the influx of dengue patients, and that the GMOA have caused a stir to win the people over.

Minister added that a request has been made to the President to call on the Presidential Dengue Task Force on the matter, and to utilize the army, navy and air force to help out with the waste disposal issue.
