Under the traffic lane rule enforced in and around Colombo, legal action has been taken against 4765 drivers who violated the rule, Police said.

The rule was enforced on June 15 and 16, within the city of Colombo and along roads leading to the city of Colombo.

Traffic violation tickets had been issued to the 4765 drivers, an addition to directing them to mandatory lessons on road rules conducted by the Police during weekends.

Police stated that they hoped to enforce the traffic lane rule in future too, with the aim of minimizing traffic congestion in the city of Colombo.
