A minister Wednesday apologized from the Maha Sanga after he was subjected to criticism during a media gathering organized by the Asgiriya Chapter yesterday.

Minister of Social Empowerment S.B. Dissanayake said he regrets if the Maha Sanga have been disappointed about him and he would like to apologize from the monks and the Sanga Sabha.

He also admitted to the fact that in several occasions he addressed Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero using only a part of the name.

Dissanayake also said he does not have a doubt about the Thero’s opinions but said that he has an issue regarding the behaviors of the monk.

The Asgiriya Chapter yesterday pointed out that according to the tradition, only a senior monk calls another monk using only a part of the name.
