Met. Dept to install new rain gauges for accurate weather predictions

The Department of Meteorology has arranged to install 200 new rain gauges around the island.

Director of the Meteorological Department, Athula Karunanayake stated that data could be collected every ten minutes with these new rain gauges.

The Director accordingly added that accurate predictions could be made about impending heavy rains in future.
