Demonstrators urge for immediate conduction of Local Govt election

Local Government representatives and several others of the Joint Opposition (JO) launched a demonstration to urge the Ministry to hold Local Government elections without further delay.

The demonstration was launched near the Ministry of Provincial Councils and Local Government in the morning today (23).

Following the demonstration, a few representatives from the crowd were summoned for a discussion.

Ada Derana reporters stated that the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Faiszer Musthapha had announced that the Local Government election would be conducted in September.

The meeting is reported to be still ongoing.
